Letter from the CEO
June 17, 2008 Dear Friends: I have just returned from speaking to the Ladies of Columbus. It was a great group to speak to and I was pleased to see so many people that are involved in the YMCA and also other community activities. I was asked to provide a brief program regarding our YMCA Building Campaign. I felt it was time to update you as to where we stand. On June 7, our YMCA kicked off the public portion of the YMCA Campaign at our Booster Club party. As you probably know, our overall goal is $7 million to build this new YMCA. Currently we are approaching almost half of this when we count pledges, promises and earnings. My message was simple. To achieve success, we need people to do two things: 1. Consider what you can afford to pledge over the next four years to bring this beautiful new YMCA to the area and then make your pledge. I am happy to answer questions or to assist with explaining options and completing a pledge card. 2. Speak to family, friends and neighbors about making a gift. We need people to become involved to carry our message forward to other possible contributors. I closed with my own personal thought – there is no reason we can’t be successful, if everyone does their part. Best regards, Mark Morrissey Executive Director |
