The Hornell Area Family YMCA | Dansville YMCA is committed to providing affordable, dependable, high-quality childcare services on a year-round basis, to working families. The YMCA Early Learning programs provide a safe and educational environment for children 18 months to 4 years of age. We are licensed by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS).

New Program! Discovery School

This is a Montessori-based setting that fosters creativity, curiosity, and exploration in a child-led classroom for ages 2- 4 years. This environment allows children to select materials of interest to them. Our curriculum area focuses on sensory-based activities. Our children sing songs, learn to count, discover the world around them and learn to follow simple instructions. We will build upon their interests and curiosity. At the YMCA, we will be using the gym, side yard, swimming pool, and Childcare room. The staff-to-child ratio is approximately 1:7. Maximum group size of 20 children will be registered per group. Discovery School will follow the Hornell City School District calendar and will be closed when Hornell City Schools close including planned vacations, weather closings, and delays.
