LifeguardsAdult/Child CPR/AED and Standard First Aid


Time: 3 hours each section
Certification: 2 year American Red Cross

The courses in this program teach the knowledge and skills needed to give immediate care to an injured or ill person and to decide whether advanced medical care is needed. This program offers a choice of first aid, CPR and AED courses to meet the various training needs of diverse audience.


CPR for Professional Rescuers/Health Care Providers

Time: 6 hours
Certification: 2 years American Red Cross

The purpose of the American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and Health Care Providers program is to train professional-level rescuers to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults, children and infants until more advanced medical personal take over.


Responding to Emergencies

Lifeguards

Time: 20 hours
Certification: 2 years American Red Cross
Prerequisites: Valid CPR-Adult or CPR/AED-Adult Certificate

The course teaches skills that participants need to know to give immediate care to a suddenly injured or ill person until more advanced medical personnel arrive and take over.


Lifeguarding 15+

Time: 30 hours (Combination homework/study and class time at the Y)

Through videos, group discussion and hands-on practice, you'll learn teamwork, rescue and surveillance skills, First Aid and CPR/AED and other skills you need to work as a professional lifeguard.
